State Day "Golden Egg"
I designed this shop for our Washington State Day several years
ago. Everyone got a built shop to finish and accessorize. I had been
collecting Easter items so mine had an Easter theme. I left the walls
the cream color the committee painted them, and added silk ribbon in
a lattice pattern for decoration. I put a gold bead where the ribbons
intersected. Around the ceiling I had a fancy border of French bow
ribbon. I had quite a lovely array of items to decorate the shelves
and front window with. The name of the shop came from my accidentally
dropping a handpainted wooden egg in gold leaf and needing to live with
the results.
